Abu Dhabi: The BAPS Hindu Mandir officially reopened its doors to the public as of April 14, in accordance with UAE safety and security guidelines. The reopening was commemorated with a heartfelt UAE flag-raising ceremony, reflecting deep gratitude, unity, and solidarity with the leadership and people of the United Arab Emirates on the 19th April 2026 from 9.30 to 10.30 am. In the majestic courtyard of the Mandir spires, the ceremony brought together more than 1,000 attendees from across the UAE, including leaders and members of diverse Indian communities, wider expatriate groups, and representatives from key civic bodies such as the Community Development Authority, Abu Dhabi Police and related authorities. In the presence of HH Swami Brahmaviharidas and temple directors, senior officials, including Brigadier General Hamed Mohammed Al-Harji, the Head of the Joint Task Force, His Excellency Mubarak Al Ameri Executive Director of the Social Licensing and Control Sector at the Department of Community Development (DCD) in Abu Dhabi, Brigadier General Mohammed Alameri were also present, demonstrating their respect and support for the Mandir and its role within the community. Attendees gathered in a powerful show of unity, proudly waving UAE flags and joyfully parading in a procession around the campus, reflecting the nation’s spirit of tolerance and coexistence. Community participation included representatives from several cultural organizations, including Rajasthan Samaj, Odiya Samaj, Bengali Samaj, Marathi Samaj, Telugu Samaj, and Ayyappa Samaj, highlighting the broad support and shared sense of belonging across communities in the UAE. In his address, Brigadier General Hamed Mohammed Al-Harji, Head of the Joint Task Force, expressed his appreciation to HH Brahmavihari Swami for inviting the task force to participate in this momentous occasion. He noted that witnessing such a large and diverse gathering of community members united in gratitude and harmony was deeply moving. He further stated that the values reflected during the ceremony mirrored the spirit of the United Arab Emirates and reaffirmed the task force’s continued commitment to ensuring that the safety and wellbeing of the community would always remain in trusted hands.

Reflecting on the significance of the occasion, HH Swami Brahmaviharidas, Head of BAPS Hindu Mandir Abu Dhabi, shared: "This is a gathering of gratitude, and a celebration of a Nation where we feel at home, safe and secure. As we fly the flag high, let our unity and solidarity fly higher for love, peace, and harmony. HH Brahmavihari Swami thanked the continued efforts of the Abu Dhabi Police in ensuring the safety and security of the Mandir, including round-the-clock support of DCD for all visitors and the volunteers who serve here. Their dedication has enabled the Mandir to continue its mission with confidence and peace of mind. During recent periods of global uncertainty and travel disruption, the Mandir remained ready to support the wider community through a coordinated emergency response initiative. A dedicated volunteer team assisted stranded individuals by providing  food, temporary accommodation, and basic medical support where needed. These humanitarian efforts were carried out discreetly and in close coordination with local authorities, demonstrating the Mandir’s commitment to compassion in action. Even while temporarily closed to visitors, the Mandir continued to serve as a center of care and service, reinforcing its role as more than a place of worship. Its outreach continues to reflect a wider commitment to social responsibility and the wellbeing of society. The Mandir Chairman, Ashok Kotecha said: "The reopening of the BAPS Hindu Mandir is a moment of gratitude and reflection. The flagraising ceremony stands as a symbol of our deep appreciation to the UAE’s leadership and its people. We are honored to be part of a nation that champions unity, compassion, and peaceful coexistence, and we remain committed to serving the wider community."
