ICA to launch an upgraded version of Facial Recognition System.

Dubai : The Federal authority for identity and citizenship has declared the launch of a new and upgraded system of facial recognition, Wherein the Emirates ID of the individual will also be linked to the facial recognition. So that whenever one visit any bank or other governmental agencies this two step verification will ensure that no fraudulent activities will take place.

This project which will replace the traditional card readers is a part of " Year of the 50" project and the Go Digital program which digitalise all the government services in UAE. 

Being innovative as always ICA had earlier announced modifications in the Emirates ID by including 3D printed picture and also the date of birth of the cardholder. 

All the valid Emirates ID card holders above the age of 15 will get this facial identification facility. It will also be linked to the passport number as well as the unique ID number which is printed on the residence visa page of the passport.

This new system will provide ease of access for the officials to identify a person, even without checking the documents, in the areas like banking, healthcare, business sector as well as several Government and public entities.

The Process is as follows : 

One among the officials will use the facial recognition camera, to identify and access to your Emirates ID. After that you will get an OTP, which is to be provided there. After that the officials will display your resident details as well as dependents list in the form of a family tree. Other informations pertaining to the identity and citizenship will also be displayed. The same facial recognition techniques is also to be launched in smart apps and self service machines, where different services can be availed, like the ICA UAE smartphone application, which facilitates application for Emirates ID, Residence and citizenship services.
